90 volunteers at The Green! Join us today!

Hundreds of old bikes and old bike parts are dumped at the landfill every year. Three skilled Green volunteers are now working with young people from Great Lakes College, teaching them how to restore and repair these bikes! If you are a young person and would like to get involved, contact us.

TAFE Certificate II in Construction Group

Great Lakes College of TAFE worked at The Green for six months, converting an old shipping container into a green library / office, building a propagation shed from reclaimed materials AND earning accredited skills in Construction.

Aboriginal Women’s Group

Ten motivated young women have their own garden at The Green. They have reused excavator tyres and corrugated tanks to create a garden designed in a flower shape (with a pond as the centrepiece) and planted with flowering, food and non-food products, annual and perennial plants. Mosaic pavers and decorative painting are all included in the design. This group was led by Margie Donnelly from Homebase Youth Service.
